Yay, I’m done with buying all my Christmas gifts, thanks to our downtown shopping date earlier today!! They’re all wrapped and attached to sparkly cards, so my job this Christmas is done. Time to relax, and enjoy as much of break as I can before the stress of finals gets to me. Lunch & dinner plans for tomorrow, Christmas party on Tuesday, chilling with the cousin on Wednesday,...
A Word About Karma
juliaallison:
We are completely responsible and completely accountable for our lives. We get away with nothing. What could be fairer, more just or ethically sound? We live in a moral universe, whose foundations are absolute justice and absolute responsibility. Rejoice, all ye who have grieved or raged at the world’s shoddy standards in these matters. Neither George Bush, Dawood Ibrahim, nor any...
Life is too short to do things just because you fell into it. Instead, for this new year, I want to actively seek out the things that I want to be doing because they are meaningful to me and not because they fell into my lap.
Also, I’m really proud of myself for coming out today and seeing everyone. This is going to be a fantastic break!
OMG Michael Cera in the first few episodes of Arrested Development = even more awkward (also, chubby) if you can imagine that. Adorable!! I love not having work.

Their Core Vision:
“We in the Tikkun Community use the word “spiritual” to include all those whose deepest values lead them to challenge the ethos of selfishness and materialism that has led people into a frantic search for money and power and away from a life that places love, kindness, generosity, peace, non-violence, social justice, awe and wonder at the grandeur of creation,...

– Ross Gregory Douthat
Jessie sent me a chapter in Ross Gregory Douthat’s Privilege: Harvard and the Education of the Ruling Class. Apparently, it was reading for some class that her friend is taking, and this chapter was the one about final clubs.
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that I never got to enjoy the holiday-themed Thursday dinner, because I was too busy rushing off to write another paper. Instead, I stole a slice of pumpkin pie on a napkin and ate it on my way out, like it was a burrito or something. It’s okay, the simple pleasures, right? Oh, my life at Harvard.
And on that note, Lisa Simpson is my hero.

My personal favorite, the Slumber Party Barbie:
“In 1965, Mattel came out with Slumber Party Barbie. Along with the Barbie doll, the package also came with pink fuzzy bathroom slippers, a scale that read 110 pounds, and a book entitled: “How to Lose Weight” whose contents read, in entirety, “Don’t Eat” (it was much easier to get a...
God, I have the best TF ever…. This weekend is going to be shitty as hell, but at least I won’t be failing a class.
Guilty procrastination
I’m on Tumblr while trying to start/finish a final paper about Flickr due tomorrow at 5 — probably not the best combination. Everytime I see a great photo, I feel guilty for wanting to reblog it instead of writing about it. Back to work, I guess…
